Gifts a fasting household can actually eat. Dry fruits, nuts and makhana — no grain, no onion or garlic, nothing set aside until the tenth day. Handcrafted in Mumbai, delivered across India.
Four situations the nine nights throw at you, and what to send for each
A Navratri fast rules out grains, lentils, onion, garlic and ordinary salt — which rules out most biscuits, crackers and namkeen. Our dry fruit, nut and makhana hampers can be opened the same evening rather than set aside for nine days.
Hosting a Golu display or nine evenings of visitors? Large trays that divide into many small thamboolam bags work far better than a single showpiece hamper. Ask us about bulk trays.
Diwali takes roughly 40% of India's annual corporate gifting volume. A hamper landing on Dussehra arrives before that crush — an individual gesture, not the fourth box that week. Volume pricing from 50 hampers.
Dry fruit and nut led boxes, suited to a household keeping the fast
Navratri is the festival most likely to catch a gift-giver out, and the reason is narrow and specific: for nine days a large share of the people you would send something to cannot eat most of what is in a standard gift hamper. A vrat is not simply eating less. It usually excludes grains and ordinary flour, lentils, onion and garlic, and regular table salt, which is replaced with sendha namak. What is left is a short list — fruit, dairy, potatoes, the vrat flours, sabudana, makhana, and dry fruits and nuts.
Which is why an expensive box of chocolates can sit unopened for nine days in an observing household, while a plain dry fruit box gets opened the evening it arrives. Premium and appropriate are not the same thing here. If you do not know how strictly a household observes, dry fruits are the gift that works either way — and that is precisely how they became India's default festive gift rather than a safe fallback.
Regional differences matter more at Navratri than at most festivals. In Gujarat the nine nights belong to garba and dandiya. In Bengal the same days are Durga Puja, built around pandal-hopping and a very different hosting rhythm. In Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh it is Golu — a tiered display of dolls and an open house, where every woman and girl who visits leaves with thamboolam. In the north, Ashtami and Navami bring Kanya Pujan. The gifting need is different in each: Golu households want quantity that divides into many small bags; a garba host wants something light and shareable; a Kanya Pujan family wants nothing at all for the girls beyond the modest customary token, but could use something themselves after eight days of fasting and a day of cooking.
On Dussehra and corporate gifting. India's corporate gifting market passed ₹25,000 crore in 2025 and grows at roughly 12–14% a year, with Diwali alone taking about 40% of annual volume. That concentration is the argument for gifting at Dussehra instead: a hamper arriving on 20 October lands before the crush, when it still reads as an individual gesture. See festive corporate gifting for bulk pricing, and brief us to keep the boxes vegetarian and eggless — a meaningful share of any Indian staff list will be observing.
Navratri delivery. This year's Navratri has passed. The next one falls on Thursday, 30 September 2027. Same-day delivery across Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai runs on working days for orders placed before 12 noon IST, and our hampers ship nationwide for every occasion in between.
Sharad Navratri 2026 begins with Ghatasthapana on Sunday, 11 October and runs nine nights through Maha Navami on Monday, 19 October, ending with Dussehra on Tuesday, 20 October. Durga Ashtami falls on Sunday, 18 October. In 2027 Navratri begins on 30 September.
Dry fruits, nuts and makhana. A Navratri vrat typically excludes grains, lentils, onion, garlic and ordinary table salt, which rules out biscuits, crackers, namkeen and most savoury hampers. Dry fruits and makhana are vrat staples, so the gift is usable on the day it arrives.
Our dry fruit and nut hampers are pure vegetarian, egg-free, and contain no onion or garlic. Some chocolate and bakery items do contain egg or grain-based centres, so if you are gifting into a household keeping a strict fast, choose a nut-led box or tell us at checkout and we will build around it.

Small, useful, age-appropriate items — stationery, hair accessories, bangles, a tiffin box or sipper — usually ₹20 to ₹200 per girl, alongside the meal and a little dakshina. The convention is deliberately modest, so a hamper is not the right gift for the girls. It suits the host family, who have been fasting and are cooking for a dozen people.
Anything with onion or garlic, anything non-vegetarian including gelatin-set sweets, alcohol, and leather. The most common mistake is grain-based snacks — crackers, biscuits and namkeen are all off the table for anyone keeping the fast.
